Home-based Services
Focus on family.
Focus' behavioral services are directed to improving each child's functional behavior and communication in their day-to-day setting. Often, working with the child in the home can provide a basis for the development of skills that may be generalized to other environements. Family members who participate in these programs also learn behavior management skills that can be applied in a variety of settings. Services offered in-home include:
- Functional Behavioral Assessment
- Developmental Assessment
- Intensive Behavioral Intervention (direct 1:1 intervention)
- Intervention to Reduce Challenging Behaviors
- Toilet Training
- Parent Education
- School district, parent, and adjunctive service provider consultations. Consultation with parents may include:
- improving the child's behavior and relationship with siblings,
- embedding positive behavioral support within typical family routines,
- establishing a communication system,
- developing appropriate behavioral goals and objectives, and
- support for parents dealing with a variety of feelings and questions about the future.
